WITCHCRAFT II: THE TEMPTRESS
(1989)
The sequel to Witchcraft is on par with the first in terms of quality. But the story and feel are much
different. The series doesn’t seem to be falling apart yet as some people have told me it would. This is a
pretty logical follow up to the first. We have the beautiful Delia Sheppard playing the temptress and she
graces us with a peek at her lovely boobies. In the first film it was all about gothic atmosphere. Here we
are in a suburban area and William is a young teen getting ready for college life. His satanic past has
come to haunt him and it seems that anything can happen!
Elizabeth Stocton is (seemingly from hell or the beyond, since she was killed in the first movie) brewing a
magical enchantment potion on a witch named Dolores (Sheppard) who will become the temptress and
play the key role in seducing young William to the dark side. She just happens to be his next door
neighbor. I think this could make sense. She could have been stationed there to watch him grow up and
then act when the time was right. William lives with his step parents, the Adams. We learn that they took
William away from the coven as a child and the film even suggests the Adams were ex-witches
themselves. William has a pretty cute girlfriend, Michelle, and a goofy best friend Boomer. One night
there is a strange box left on his doorstep. It contains a talisman and he has nightmares of the Stoctons
being burned at the stake that night.
William has his book worm friend Audrey take a look at the talisman. She tells him it has to do with
witchcraft. In a priceless scene William helps steady Dolores on the stairs as she works on the rain
gutter. She places his hands on her ass and oh boy, what a beautiful ass it was. She was wearing a
thong with see thru patterned stockings. William later has a hallucination of his girlfriend cheating on him
and her boobs looked great bouncing up and down. People in cheap and sometimes not so cheap
horror movies always seem to have hallucinations without no necessary explanation. They just toss them
in there for a quick shock or thrill. It can be confusing depending on how it’s edited. Some movies even
blur the line of fantasy and reality to a maddening point where you then do not know what to think. That
is not the case here though. Anyway, Dolores appears (yes she does appear and disappear into people’
s homes at random) in the Adam’s kitchen and after a brief confrontation stabs and kills Mrs. Adams and
takes control of her body for a while. Audrey wanders into the house looking for William to give him more
information and the evil Mrs. Adams throws her dumb ass out the window. She freaking lands before
William and Boomer who were talking about something by the front of the house. That evening Mr.
Adams tells William the whole story about his true parents and the involvement in witchcraft. That night
William happens to be home alone with Dolores, something we all envy. She tries to seduce him but he’s
a little queer and refuses her advances. Just kidding he’s straight but doesn’t want to be involved in
witchcraft. William goes to Michelle’s father, the Reverend, for advice and believe it or not, while they
talk downstairs Michelle is seemingly being raped by an evil spirit upstairs in her room. I say seemingly
because the unseen spirit tears all her clothes off and spreads her legs apart but leaves her underwear
and bra on. Come on guys, how’s she going to get raped with her panties on. We needed to see this
scene done right. A second strange box appears on her bed. I’ll ruin the mystery for you now. It’s no
biggie. He then receives a third box. When you put all the three items together it forms a goblet. A
mysterious pentagram appears on Will’s and Michelle’s chest which apparently means nothing more
than they wanted to include the pentagram in the movie, in dramatic fashion. Back to the Adams home.
The possessed Mrs. Adams tells William more about his witchcraft past, including that his birth mother
Grace killed herself. This may not be true taking into consideration that Mrs. Adams is possessed now.
Then, all of a sudden Mrs. Adams turns into the lovely Dolores. William goes insane, pushes his father
against some crap and takes a baseball bat to Dolores. I swear he must have whacked her over ten
times. She is perfectly ok, not a scratch on her. Mr. Adams on the other hand dies from the push and
the crap that he fell on. William now goes downstairs and prepares a shotgun to kill himself.
Michelle shows up to encourage him to fight the evil inside him and not to kill himself. William is afraid
he will always be a pawn to the witches but Michelle explains there is goodness in his soul, it is not all
black. This is true, she explains further, because although his father was the evil John Stocton his
mother was a pure soul, Grace Churchill. Tonight Dolores will come for him one last time to seduce him
over to the dark side, to obtain his seed, as she later tells him. The house starts to shake violently and
Dolores appears, as beautiful as ever. She works some magic to hold Michelle and prevent her from
interfering in her business. She rubs William’s face over her boobs and it seems they are starting to get
it on when Will grabs a crucifix and stabs her, turning her to dust. William and his girlfriend are
unharmed. All is well, for now…
This movie was more fun than the first. The first was more serious, this one was goofy and cheesy. All
the actors sucked, especially Charles Solomon Jr. who played the dumb-face, deep voice William. Delia
Sheppard really carries the film though. Her acting was a little better than the rest but her curves were
just what the doctor ordered. This is not a great movie but this is your classic B movie material.
