AMATEUR PORN STAR KILLER 2 (2008)
I’ve been wanting to see this just for the title alone. I have not seen the first one yet. Shane Ryan stars
and directs this disturbing peek into the sexual wanderings of a serial rapist and murderer. The movie is
presented in a series of snuff clips shot by the killer. It is all shot with a handheld camcorder. I could not
have been prepared for what I was about to see. I don’t think anyone could have. Caution: this film will
violate and entertain.
The man behind the camera, the killer, is Brandon. He is strolling through a park and a beach, filming
women’s asses, thighs and breasts. Don’t be put off by the video quality, I know it’s pretty bad. It will
meld into the film’s texture and towards the second half, and especially the third act it improves,
revealing more to us.
Sitting in his car Brandon is filming a pretty young woman buying iced-coffee from a store vendor. It’s
late at night. Brandon approaches her as she walks home. The idea of this movie suggests that the girl
(victim) played seductively by Kai Lanette be an aspiring porn actress. Throughout the film we see many
girls with such motive meet their doom at the hands of the sadistic Brandon. I could not decipher the
dialogue between Brandon and his victim save a few words. But that was not even necessary. The
sound of their voices and facial expressions (mainly Lanette) easily got the message across. And the
message is simple : Can you withstand watching an actual snuff video? We are taken to his
neighborhood, familiarized with his criminal behavior, his Ted Bundy charm. Ryan looks frightfully similar
to a young Ted Bundy, you could even say his reincarnation. Ryan and Lanette are terrific actors. You
cannot feign these performances. So, after talking to the victim for some part of the night she agrees to
go to a motel with him, could have also been his apartment. Now begins a series of teases that draw you
in. almost as if you were the killer wanting to slap this bitch around and fuck her good. And she needs a
good fucking. This tease slowly progress till the end of the film. Brandon slides his hand down her pants,
then slaps her butt and she recoils. This goes on for awhile. In these types of intimate scenes between
the killer and his victim Ryan employs several color filters and adds a smooth music track. When all the
elements come together it’s intoxicating. Every now and again we are shown clips of Brandon’s past
killings and how his sexual hunger deviated into something evil.
The third act is nothing short of brilliant. If you actually open yourself to the fact that this is a real snuff
tape you will be shocked and appalled. This is what we are meant to believe and it’s difficult not to be
drawn in. In this third act the illusion between killer and victim is dispelled. The victim knows she will
surely die. This is no longer a game. Fully nude she is humiliated and raped before the camera.
Warning: this section contains full pornographic content including an onscreen blowjob and vaginal
penetration. This, I felt was appropriate for this type of film. It would have been cool if perhaps there
would have been anal intercourse or blows producing blood and bruising. Brandon plays rougher and
rougher until simulated choking becomes real. I thought it was a nice touch that Brandon continued to
have intercourse with his victim even after she had passed away.
Kai Lanette is beautiful and mesmerizing on screen. AMATEUR PORN STAR KILLER 2 is a perfect
example of a modern day sex exploitation flick sure to make H.G. Lewis and Friedman proud. I don’t rate
this film higher because the beginning had some lame repetitious footage and the video and audio
quality were poor, causing confusion . Things come together in the second half and the lengthy tease,
rape, and kill segment stands solid in and of itself. It would be interesting to see what Ryan would have
done with a larger budget. I recommend this film if you are into serial killers and rough sex.
