Jim Isaac is better known as the guy who took Jason into space. That's right, he's the director of the love-it or hate-it JASON X movie, which I personally loved. He also directed the ridiculous John Woo meets werewolves-that-never-turn-into-werewolves movie Skinwalkers. Robert Mailer Anderson is a novelist and the co-writer of Jim's latest horror thriller Pig Hunt. I cornered these two at the west-coast premiere of Pig Hunt for a brief chat. Jose: Okay guys, this will be easy. What's your favorite horror movie? Jim Isaac: Oh, uh The Shinning. Robert Mailer Anderson: You know, I'm going to go with Straw Dogs, even though people don't think of that as a horror film. And I think there is a lot of Straw Dogs in this film [Pig Hunt], in the terms of the slow-burn and a stranger coming to a small town and then being fucked with. Jose: Favorite horror novel? Robert: USA TRILOGY by John Dos Passos is my favorite novel. That and maybe ABSALOM, ABSALOM! by Faulkner. That's easy for me. Jim: BOONVILLE! [Anderson's first novel] Jose: Okay last one, and this is even easier. Favorite horror filmmaker? Jim: Favorite horror director? Well, Cronenberg. Yeah, Cronenberg would have to be my guy. Mainly because I wouldn't actually consider him a horror director or in the horror genre but he's all about the story. For sure. Robert: Jim Isaac, clearly! And whatever horror forays Kurosawa or Orson Welles took in their own small way. I mean they aren't the standard horror guys. They're behind Jim Isaac. Jose: Alright guys, thank you very much and good luck with Pig Hunt.
